Hello my name is Beth Sweeney and this is my 6th year teaching 7th grade math at Brewer Middle School. I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin December of 2006 with a BBA in Marketing and a Minor in Advertising. TEXAS FIGHT!!! Upon graduation I decided that it was best for me to pursue my passion and follow my heart. This led me to teaching children. I received my alternate certification through ECAP and am certified to teacher Math, Science, Social Studies, and English in grades 4 -8. In August of 2011, I graduated with my Masters in Guidance & Counseling from Angelo State University. I have a wonderful husband named David. And a 6 year old step-daughter named Ava and a 1 year old named Piper. I also have a two year old silver lab named Gunner. I am so fortunate to also be the student council sponsor. This is such a wonderful group of students on campus. It is very rewarding to see the leaders of our campus grow and mature into our future leaders. Every member completes AT LEAST 12 hours of community or school service every six weeks. Our motto is "Leading by Serving" because I feel as though it is so important to teach kids at an early age the importance of giving back to others. Although the rewards are not always visual... the most meaningful ones are felt in the heart! I am really looking forward to getting to know all of my students. I love teaching math and do my best to make it FUN!! I know we are going to have a great year!!
