Introduction – I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the University of North Florida. Prior to my decision to pursue a career in education, I was in the work force for 15 years. During the course of my teaching experience I have taught English I, II, III, III AP/College Prep and IV! Philosophy of Education – I believe strongly that schools and teachers exist for two equally important reasons. The first is to help our young people increase in knowledge to give them the tools and skills they need to function well in a changing world. The second is to help them develop good character traits and become a good citizen. As Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote, “Intelligence plus character – that is the true goal of education.” In addition to upholding high academic standards, I pledge to do all I can to help our students develop good attitudes, be respectful, work hard and be honest. In my opinion, these are the four main ingredients of good character.
