I have been teaching for over twenty years now, and I am STILL learning! My main teaching assignment is working in an alternative setting with at-risk students. I have been at this job for over ten years now, and I find that each day has its own challenges.
Besides teaching, I have three beautiful children. My son will graduate from college in May and get married in July! My two daughters are in 9th and 7th grade.
My best friend and soul mate, my husband, passed away five years ago after a short but courageous battle with metastatic melanoma.
My name is Rebecca Oberg and I'm an English teacher (9th grade and Journalism) in Minneapolis specializing in the use of 21st century learning in the modern English/Language Arts classroom. Before teaching I attended the University of Minnesota, where I graduated Summa cum Laude with a BA in English Literature and Composition with minors in Geography and European Studies. I continued at the U of M, where I received my Masters of Education and licensure to teach English Communication Arts and Literature for grades 5-12. I have worked in urban and suburban schools, as well as with various other programs including Upward Bound. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing with my cocker spaniel dog Maggie as well as traveling, reading, learning Greek, and being an aunt to my two adorable nephews!
