My name is Thomas Thompson and I'm a 6th grade World History teacher in Edmond, Oklahoma near Oklahoma City. History is sometimes a student's least favorite topic in school and their favorite topic when they're out of school. Closing that disconnect and making history relevant and important for our future citizens is my mission, so I'm dedicated to using Web 2.0 tools for 21st century learning in the modern history classroom. I was a soldier in the U.S. Army and ran my own business as a presenter on Management, Government, and Technology topics before my heart was called to teaching. I have degrees in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Technology and Political Science and recently completed my Masters' Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Southern Nazarene University. I am lucky enough to have worked with some of the best school districts in Oklahoma and various other educational programs for students who are "at-risk" due to poverty or other issues. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, learning History, and being a father. (most of the time)
