My name is Jodi Warner. I am a teacher of the physical sciences and mathematics. I have taught for over 17 years.
My favorite part of my job is helping others learn. When young people understand a new concept and find success it makes them feel good about themselves. One of my greatest joys is running into past students and seeing their happiness. My favorite hobbies are playing with my dogs, and horses, reading, walking, biking, knitting and skiing.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE I am in my 30th year in science education and my 25th year at La Salle High School, Pasadena. I have spent the last twenty years as the science department chair and I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Environmental Science. I am a National Presenter with BER for "Flip" Your Science Instruction Seminars. I am a certified Smart Notebook trainer and have spent the last five years training other teachers in the utilization of SMART Boards and SMART Notebook. I am passionate about teaching and learning. I love to share what I do in the classroom and have presented workshops on "Flipping Your Science Classroom", "Dynamic Teaching in the Block Schedule", "Teaching to the Left and Right Brain", and "Teaching the Six C's (Think Critically, Communicate Clearly, Work Collaboratively, Embrace Culture, Develop Creativity and Utilize Connectivity) in Science" and "Low Budget Manipulatives for Teaching Stoichiometry." flipped4science.blogspot.com email@example.com www.youtube.com/user/SMARTERTEACHER?feature=mhee @smarterteacher
Hello! Anthony here! I hold degrees in Education with a Specialization in Mathematics, as well as in German Studies, both from the University of Minnesota Duluth. I am licensed to teach mathematics in the state and Minnesota, and am currently enrolled in a Masters of Education program specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning. My program is through Capella University. My educational experiences are varied. In addition to working in Duluth Public Schools, I have worked as a Tutor with the AVID program in the Saint Paul Public Schools, as well as a Math Teacher and Department Lead for LearningWorks at Blake, an enrichment program for middle schoolers in Minneapolis Public Schools. I began contracting for Sophia in October 2011, and have enjoyed every minute. I authored content for the Sophia Pathways, helped organize the taxonomy for the many different levels of math we have on the site, and reviewed many of the quiz items you see next to our math concepts. I have also authored some screencasts for our College Algebra Pathway. I'm currently working for Sophia as an Academic Support Coordinator for Sophia Pathways for College Credit. I help facilitate the production and review of the video tutorials that go into our SPCC courses. I get to use technology everyday to reach teachers and learners around the globe. Plus, I'm always exercising and learning new skills. Could it get any better?

I am in my sixth year of teaching at Clio High School in Clio, Michigan. I've never been afraid to try something new and jumped at the chance to try flipping my Algebra 1 classes during the 2012-2013 school year. Never before have I had so much one-on-one time with my students and opportunities to differentiate and meet their needs. I continually look for ways to improve what I'm doing in the classroom and incorporate technology in meaningful ways. During the 2013-2014 school year I will be implementing a mastery method for flipping which will be made easier with all that Sophia has to offer.
