I began my teaching career by earning my BS degree in Foundations of Education with a coaching minor in 2001. Five years later, I earned my Masters of Education degree.
I began teaching 7th and 8th grade math in Minneapolis, MN in 2003. I taught in the Minneapolis School District for 4 years and became tenured. I taught 6th through 8th grade math students during that time.
In 2007, I moved to Mankato, MN where I began teaching 6th grade science, math, religion, and computers. Beginning in 2011, I began teaching 7th grade math again and in 2012, I started teaching 8th grade math as well.
I coached cross country running in Roseville, MN from 2001 to 2004. I coached track and field in 2008 and 2010.
In 2009, My wife and I became foster parents. We fostered a 2 year old and a 2 month old. We were blessed to adopt them 2 years later. They have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome which brings its own challenges. Two years later we were able to adopt their sister.
