Graduated from Minnesota State University with a degree in Elementary Education with specialties in both Middle School Science as well as Middle School Communication Arts & Literature. I have also received my Master's Degree from Bethel University in Special Education focusing on Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Learning Disabilities. Currently I am working on my Educational Specialist Degree from St. Mary's University in Educational Leadership. Prior to getting into education I served 9 years in the U.S. Army (most time in MN National Guard). Spending a year in Baghdad, Iraq (2004) allowed me to interact with the local population and observe that despite one's condition, children just want to learn. This is where my desire to become an educator was first sparked and after several years in education I get to see students grow into life long learners.
