Dr. Campbell is Professor and Associate Dean in the Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama. She earned the PhD in writing and linguistics from LSU. Her research has appeared in Business Communication Quarterly, College Composition & Communication, Health Care Management Review, Environmental Professional, Journal of Business Communication, Journal of Business & Technical Communication, Journal of Technical Writing & Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, Personal Selling & Sales Management, Technical Communication Quarterly, and Technical Communication. She has authored three books. Dr. Campbell served as editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication from 1998 through 2008. IEEE honored her with the Emily K. Schlesinger Award for Distinguished Service in 2007 and the Alfred N. Goldsmith Award for Contributions to Engineering Communication in 2009. The Associate for Business Communication named her Outstanding Researcher in 2012. She is a former faculty member at the Air Force Institute of Technology and Auburn University.
