Grade(s): Middle School / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12 / College
I have been teaching mathematics to middle schoolers for 10 years. I have been teaching 8th grade math for 11 years now. Also, I am the Math Department Head in my school for the past 9 years as well.
I teach my students through the "Flipped Classroom" model. This means that the students watch the content videos at home, and practice the content at school through applications and investigations.
I have three loves in my life, my Heavenly Father, my Family, and Mathematics. I spend my time outside of the classroom relaxing with my family, praising/worshiping my Heavenly Father, and researching new ways to teach math to my wonderful middle schoolers.
I am a high school mathematics teacher in Southern California who absolutely loves to make math meaningful and memorable to my students. I currently teach Algebra 1 to 9th and 10th graders, and Math Analysis Honors to 11th and 12th graders. I teach using a "Flipped Classroom" model, where my students receive instruction at home via video and then come to class ready to discuss, think and work together, and solve problems. Outside of teaching, I enjoy relaxing with my husband, reading fiction, going on walks, and watching our favorite shows on Hulu.
