I have been an English teacher for many (so many) years. I have taught AP Lit and Comp, British and American Literature, and English 9. I have also worked as a tech integrationist and have done curriculum and professional development work in a local high school.
After teaching Secondary English for eight years, I decided to pursue a career in virtual education and curriculum writing in order to stay home with my son, Nate. I have a BA in English from Texas A&M University and a M.Ed from Towson University (Towson, Maryland). I moved from Houston to Baltimore in 2005 because of my husband's job.
I teach high school English. (And yes, I know that is a less-than-exciting sentence). When I'm not teaching, I spend my free time reading, working with the speech team, editing journalism stories, playing on my iPad (which I have affectionately named Paddington), and sailing.
My name is Rebecca Oberg and I'm an English teacher (9th grade and Journalism) in Minneapolis specializing in the use of 21st century learning in the modern English/Language Arts classroom. Before teaching I attended the University of Minnesota, where I graduated Summa cum Laude with a BA in English Literature and Composition with minors in Geography and European Studies. I continued at the U of M, where I received my Masters of Education and licensure to teach English Communication Arts and Literature for grades 5-12. I have worked in urban and suburban schools, as well as with various other programs including Upward Bound. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing with my cocker spaniel dog Maggie as well as traveling, reading, learning Greek, and being an aunt to my two adorable nephews!
