I am a very energized Mexican with a BA in TEFL, a MA in Applied Linguistics, and an MA in Education (focused on Approaches to Teaching and Learning ).
I am currently working at École Mondiale World School in Mumbai. I am the World Languages Head of Department, a teacher of Spanish, French and TOK.
Teaching is my passion and my life style and, therefore, enjoy finding new ways to explore language learning, and learning in general.
Recently, I have successfully conducted Language A classes on line, and have incorporated Blended learning in my classes.
More than trying to motivate my students, I am always motivated by my students thirst for learning and discovery skills.
I'm the Founder and co-creator of Sophia and I love to create new things. I have a deep passion for education and technology, and I spend a lot of time thinking about how they could come together more effectively. I earned my bachelor's degree in U.S. History from the University of Wisconsin and my MBA from the University of Minnesota. I'm also the proud father of three daughters who give me a lot of great feedback on how to improve Sophia. I hope you'll send me your thoughts and ideas about Sophia. You can also feel free to share your thoughts on education, technology, American history (my personal passions are presidential and immigration history), music, songwriting, or baseball. I’d love to hear from you. - Don
My name is Rebecca Oberg and I'm an English teacher (9th grade and Journalism) in Minneapolis specializing in the use of 21st century learning in the modern English/Language Arts classroom. Before teaching I attended the University of Minnesota, where I graduated Summa cum Laude with a BA in English Literature and Composition with minors in Geography and European Studies. I continued at the U of M, where I received my Masters of Education and licensure to teach English Communication Arts and Literature for grades 5-12. I have worked in urban and suburban schools, as well as with various other programs including Upward Bound. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing with my cocker spaniel dog Maggie as well as traveling, reading, learning Greek, and being an aunt to my two adorable nephews!
