I'm currently a member of the Learning Resources department at Capella University. In 2011, I completed my Master's degree in Leadership in Student Affairs from the University of St. Thomas. For my capstone project, I did research on orientation programs for adults studying online. My interests in higher education research include curriculum resource strategy, online academic and support resources, orientation and first year experience programs, and learning assistance.
In August 2012, I completed my PhD in Work and Human Resource Education with a specialization in Adult Education from the University of Minnesota. I've taught study skills and library research workshops for undergraduates and graduate students there since moving to Minnesota from Florida in 2006. In my spare time, I work with teens as a life coach, helping them to prepare for college. I also work with teens in danger of dropping out of high school. Over the summer, I've spent some time helping Sophia grow by creating packets on study skills, scholarly research, citations and creative writing. I also review packets here at Sophia for academic soundness. Feel free to say hello on facebook or send me an e-mail! I'm always happy to help. -Kristina
