I have been a music teacher for the past six years. I spent four years teaching in a Chicago suburb school which is where I taught K-6 general music. For the past two years I've been teaching in a rural school district outside of Rapid city where I teach K-12 music including band and choir. I am still involved with music as I play my flute with a group at my church and continue to seek out performance opportunities. I love attending concerts and musicals, but I also love to dance and speak Spanish (which I have a minor in from college) and I also love studying other countries and cultures.
I am a Professor of Acoustics and Director of Distance Education for the Graduate Program in Acoustics at The Pennsylvania State University. I earned my Ph.D. in Acoustics from Penn State in 1995 (with a background in physics and music) and from 1995-2011 was a member of the physics faculty at Kettering University in Flint, MI.
I am currently a 4th grade teacher in Vermillion, SD. I am going into my 4th year of teaching and am looking forward to tackling all sorts of new challenges this year with implementing a Daily 5 reading program and working with the Common Core standards. I graduated from MN State, Mankato in 2009 and will finish my Master's Degree at Augustana College in December.
I am a special education teacher in a self-contained classroom at JFK Elementary in Sioux Falls, SD. I've been teaching in special education for 13 years.
I am currently a cross grade level teacher at Highlands Elementary School in LaGrange, IL working with kindergarten and first grade students. I have a variety of responsibilities, but one of my main focuses is reading and math interventions. I implement the interventions as well as manage all of the data for progress monitoring and benchmarking the students. Being part of the RtI staff as been very rewarding, and I hope to continue this work.
