Co-founder of eduCanon. We just launched our platform on September 3rd and I'm looking to learn from the great educators on Sophia to see how we can make eduCanon work best for the flipped classroom.
eduCanon is an online learning platform for teachers to build and share interactive video lessons. Teachers can take any video content on YouTube and make it more active through time-embedded formative assessments.
I am a science teacher living in Evansville, IN. I use a Flipped Classroom with biology and chemistry students to expand their technology skills, build global connections, and become producers of information rather than consumers. I currently blog on Educator, Learner about science, technology, education policy, and teaching. You can catch me on Twitter or on Google+.
I am in my 9th year of teaching English Language Arts in a STEM Magnet School. To that end, I am trying to create a "flipped" classroom, and Sophia is one of the tools I found.
Instructional Technology Specialist for Huntsville ISD in Hunstville, TX. Former English teacher of 8 years, lifelong learner, Spurs fan, and all around nice girl. I'm here learning about Sophia because I want to help our "flipped" teachers access quality tools for flipping their instruction.
For the past 26 years of my teaching career, I have been an avid professional learner. I love my profession regardless of the many challenges it has presented over the years. My students inspire me every day and I know that I will always learn more from them than they ever will from me. With the explosion of possibilities now offered with technologies such as Sophia, Skype, and YouTube, just to name a few, and the flipped classroom ideology, I believe that my best teaching and learning is still ahead of me! Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty. -Albert Einstein
