I want you to know that I learned so much from taking this course. It satisfied my liberals requirement for my BSN at Spring Arbor University. I have recommended it to two other of my classmates and they are going to take it. The only recommendations that I have are that the glossary is not conclusive. It does not have all the terms in it that it should. Also, sometimes the answers required for the quiz and test questions are vague and do not match up with the definitions provided in the narrative or glossary part. For example, archaeology, sociology, archaeologist, etc. Other than a few exceptions with this, it was a great course! If I needed any more courses to take, I would take them from you! Thank you so much! Sincerely, Sharon K. Peters, RN (soon to be BSN, in May 2019) Yeah!

The Art History 1 course was a fun and delightful experience filled with pleasant and magnificent illustrations! I enjoyed it!

I absolutely loved the course. I found it incredibly interesting and enjoyed it despite the fact that I was only taking it as a filler for a humanities elective. The class was easily navigated, but I had extensive technical difficulties with the ID verification milestone.

This was my first Sophia course. There was a large amount of material to learn, but the content was very well organized. Unit 1 was much easier than the other units. I would say you should spend a good amount of time on Unit 2. When taking the final Milestone, utilize the glossary page (online tutorial) for each unit. Clicking on the word in the glossary takes you to that part of the course material. Good Luck!

This course is very informative. Not a bad course, Just didn't like the long set up for the Proctor U exam (takes too long).
by Terra D. on February 24, 2019
This was much easier than expected and I enjoyed the professionalism of the proctor.

Great class. Lots of good information.

I learned some new information. Some of the tutorials were not as good as others but overall the course was good.

  • Q: Does Sophia accept third-party payment for tuition, such as financial aid or military benefits?
A: Sophia courses are not eligible for most third party payment methods, and must be paid for by credit or debit card. Tuition is due at the time of course registration. Sophia offers both full and partial payment plans as part of the registration process.
  • Q: When do the courses start and how long do I have to complete a course?
A: You choose your own start date and have 60 days to complete each course. However, because the courses are self-paced, you can complete them in fewer than 60 days.
  • Q: Where do I get the textbooks for my course?
A: You do not need any textbooks for Sophia courses. All material is taught by video and text-based tutorials that are in the course room, and are included in the cost.
  • Q: How am I graded in the course?
A: Your overall score is derived from how you do on two types of assessments: Challenges, which are formative assessments, and Milestones, which are summative assessments. Sophia’s English Composition I, Foundations of English Composition, and Public Speaking courses also include written assignments, called Touchstones, that also contribute to your overall score.
  • Q: How do I know which courses I should take?
A: Consult with your academic adviser at your university to determine specifically which Sophia courses could fit into your program. You can download the course syllabus directly from our site to share with your school advisor.

Oh no. Please don't go.
