This is an excellent course. The degree of detail could have been immense, however, the way the information is laid out makes it very digestible. I would recommend this course to everyone!

Sophia courses allows me to learn at my own pace. The course also allows me to fast forward if there are subject areas I am familiar with. This course is no exception and I highly recommend it for anyone needing Art History.

A ton of content- kind of a grind. Be organized in your notes- draw a lot of pictures, staple each section together. It takes a lot of time and the videos are a bit dry after a while. They also seem to time out a lot and you have to go back and restart. I needed an art history class (not something I wanted to take)- so take my review with a grain of salt. Not very engaging for me. I was overwhelmed by the amount of information. The beginning not so much. From what I hear- this is just the nature of art history. I guess you either love it or not so much. Personally I would rate this a 3- but I think as far as information goes there is a lot and a 4 is a fair rating (taking out my bias of not really that interested in the mass quantity of information).

This class was Hard and stressful. I had no knowledge of art and I almost gave up. Glad I stayed the course and finished.
by Michael B. on July 2, 2019
I was skeptical of taking this course. I thought it would be a boring list of paintings to memorize. Boy was I wrong! A fascinating journey from prehistory to the renaissance including art, culture, religion, and architecture from all over the world. I'll be taking Art History II for sure.
