Course description

Sophia's Introduction to Career Readiness course is designed to introduce learners to the fundamental steps to secure a job role. In this course, learners will gain an understanding of the job search process and what it takes to prepare a resume and cover letter. Learners will also learn how to use their relevant experiences to succeed in interviews along with understanding how to act professionally in the workplace. In this course, learners will have the opportunity to create their own resume and cover letter, along with putting their interview skills to the test. *Due to potential content overlap with Career Readiness, we recommend you check with your institution and/or advisor before enrolling in this course.

Assessments and grading

This is a pass/fail course. You must complete 4 Challenges (formative assessments), 1 Milestone (summative assessment), and 2 Touchstones (project-based or written assessments) with an overall score of 70% or better.

If you’ve completed the first Challenge during your free trial, you can pick up right where you left off after you become a Sophia member.

Don’t worry. Your completed courses won’t disappear if you cancel your membership. Those courses will be there for you when you’re ready to submit for transfer.

If you have an education benefit through your employer, it may cover your subscription to Sophia. Check with your benefits administrator to find out if you qualify.
